Bocconi, Hub for Discussion on the Challenges for International Education

FROM 7 TO 9 OCTOBER THE UNIVERSITY HOSTS ONLINE THE CONFERENCE OF THE PARTNERSHIP IN INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT (PIM) NETWORK WITH DEANS AND DIRECTORS CONNECTED FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD

The world of education has been deeply shaken by the impact of the COVID19 emergency and is now facing important and major challenges. This will be the central theme of the 47th Annual Conference of PIM (Partnership in International Management), the oldest of the major international networks that brings together some of the most prestigious universities and business schools in the world, hosted and organized by Bocconi and which this year will take place in virtual mode.

Founded in 1973 to promote international cooperation, PIM now brings together 66 universities and business schools from five continents. The annual conference will be an opportunity to discuss PIM’s strategies for growth and development and how to address the new challenges the world of international education is facing.

"It is a great pleasure and honour to host this conference," says Stefano Caselli, Bocconi's Dean for International Affairs and Chair for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) of PIM. "We are facing great challenges. The concept of a global world, with unlimited mobility and international exchanges, is under threat today and therefore it is now more important than ever to demonstrate our sense of community and ability as a great international network in reacting to change".

The conference opens on Wednesday 7 October with a keynote speech by Mario Monti, President of Bocconi, on global challenges in the post-Covid era.  This will be followed by two days of discussions and working groups on topics such as innovation in education in times of COVID and how to continue to foster international student exchanges in this period. It will close on Friday with the PIM General Assembly and the keynote speech by Ilaria Capua, virologist and Director of the One Health Center of Excellence at the University of Florida.
