Finance, Fashion, Leadership, Culture learning online with Bocconi MOOCs

11 FREE DISTANCE LEARNING COURSES OFFERED ON THE COURSERA PLATFORM WITH AN INTERACTIVE MIX OF VIDEO LECTURES, CASE STUDIES, ASSIGNMENTS AND GUEST SPEAKERS

Even with closed classrooms it is possible to keep learning and updating professionally thanks to the varied offer of Bocconi's Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) offered on the Coursera platform. Courses entirely online, accessible to anyone, in English, Spanish and Arabic, both on specific sectors and on management aspects such as leadership or CSR  in the company.

Launched in 2014 with the course in Financing and Investing in Infrastructure, Bocconi's offer today consists of 11 courses - ranging from private equity to fashion management, from innovation management to CSR - including the one on food and beverage management also in Spanish and the one on leadership in Arabic. Since 2014, Bocconi MOOCs have already registered over 280,000 participants worldwide.

Developed with the contribution of BUILT (Bocconi University Innovation in Learning and Teaching), Bocconi's laboratory for innovative teaching, the courses consist of a mix of video lectures from Bocconi and SDA Bocconi faculty, case studies, exercises and testimonials from managers and professionals. There are some peculiarities in the various courses, such as the meditation exercises included in the MOOC on CSR and the documentary on the excellence of the Modenese territory in the food and beverage course.

The 11 MOOCs are now all available on-demand, i.e. without time constraints and that can be completed at one’s own pace.

"The spirit of MOOCs is to facilitate learning - with free fruition and accessibility to everyone , anywhere in the world," explains Chiara Moscardo, MOOC project manager at BUILT. "For its portfolio of courses Bocconi wants to focus on its strongest disciplinary areas and also on the typical areas for an Italian university, such as fashion, food and the arts.”
