Bocconi and Fondazione Leonardo Sign Agreement on Artificial Intelligence

THE AGREEMENT PROVIDES FOR RESEARCH, SEMINARS AND CONFERENCES TO PROMOTE DEBATE ON THE IMPACT OF NEW DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN THE LEGAL FIELD

An agreement was signed by Bocconi University Rector, Gianmario Verona, and Leonardo Civiltà delle Macchine Foundation Chairman, Luciano Violante. The University and the Foundation are now committed to collaborating in the area of artificial intelligence, regulation of new media and disruptive technologies, promoting legal and economic debate in the subject also through joint seminars, conferences and research contributions.

Both Bocconi and the Leonardo Foundation have been engaged for years, in their respective fields, in the study and debate on the potential benefits that artificial intelligence brings, in part thanks to the organization of seminars, testimonials and workshops.
"With this agreement," explains Oreste Pollicino, Professor of Constitutional Law at Bocconi and Editor-in-Chief of the Rivista di Diritto dei Media, "the University and the Leonardo Foundation intend to encourage research relating to the impact that artificial intelligence and digital technologies have on legal phenomena and then disseminate this research through publication in the Rivista."

According to the Chairman of the Leonardo Foundation, Luciano Violante, "The agreement provides for joint research and seminars to intertwine technological expertise with legal expertise of various kinds. It is an important step towards the definition of governance principles in the digital society."
