The first year Law student is among the 25 best students in the country, a recipient of an award assigned each year by the National Federation of Cavalieri del Lavoro

Though he is not yet sure what he wants to be when he grows up, Giuseppe Muto, a first-year student in the Law program, is being honored as one of the top 25 students in the country. On Thursday 30 November, he will receive the Alfieri del Lavoro Prize from the President of the Italian Republic at the Quirinale Palace.

"The award is assigned based on grade point average during high school, with a requirement of an honors mark at the high school entrance exam and a score of at least 100 at the school-leaving exam. Each institution can recommend one student and then the National Federation of Cavalieri del Lavoro chooses the top 25." Giuseppe, who attended Liceo Classico Benedetto Marzolla in Brindisi, will spend two intense days in Rome, going on tours and attending official dinners and a special awards ceremony. The latter will be broadcast live on RAI1. "All the students receiving the award will walk next to a Cavaliere del Lavoro, representing a symbolic handover," explains Giuseppe. "And then they will receive a medal and a certificate of honor from the President of the Republic."

Giuseppe Muto has not made any decisions about his professional future, but time is on his side: "A few of my classmates already know what they would like to do after graduation, but I'm not sure. On one hand, I'd like to work at a large international organization, such as the United Nations or the European Union, but on the other, I'm very interested in practicing law. I still have time to decide."
