A Talk about Change. Andrea Guerra at Bocconi

EATALY'S EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN MET BOCCONI STUDENTS TO TALK ABOUT TECHNOLOGICAL, GEOPOLITICAL AND CONSUMER TRANSFORMATIONS

"The world has changed and we have to take note," was the assumption from which Andrea Guerra, Eataly's Executive Chairman, started a talk with students organized by the Bocconi Graduate School for the initiative “A conversation with…”, a cycle of meetings (in English) organized for a limited number of students to encourage interaction between guest speakers and audience. "Technological, geopolitical, and consumption patterns’ evolutions create great opportunities, but they are also important challenges that need to be managed," explains Antonella Carù, Dean of the Bocconi graduate school. “Consumers are looking for experiences and personalization, and they demand to be listened to. All this leads to the breakdown of walls inside and outside companies; work is transformed into a world of global competition. Everything is faster, everything is more uncertain”.

This theme was discussed by Andrea Guerra - who before Eataly was Luxottica's CEO for 10 years - with students from Masters of ScienceMBA and Master in Food and Beverage, who had the opportunity to address to the guest speaker different questions at the end of talk. "Some students asked what is the current role of Oscar Farinetti, founder of Eataly, and others were curious to know how the young Guerra related himself to more vertical leadership styles," continues Carù. "This is the peculiarity of this series of meetings: the possibility of establishing an active dialogue between the guest and the students".
