THE BOCCONI COMMUNITY WILL PARTICIPATE IN VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES ON 26 AND 27 FEBRUARY AT SEVERAL ASSOCIATIONS AROUND MILAN. REGISTRATION FOR THE THIRD EDITION OF COMMUNITY DAYS STARTS TODAY

A weekend during which you can dedicate a few hours of your time to volunteer activities at one of several local organizations participating in the project. Community Days, with its third edition taking place on 26-27 February, will once again engage students, faculty and staff connected by the same compassion and desire to help others. Organized by the University, in collaboration with the CIESSEVI Volunteer Services Center, the City of Milan and the student association Students for Humanity, Community Days is part of the Volunteer Project promoted by the University.

"I participated in the first edition of Community Days," says Giulia Melfi, a student enrolled in her first year of the Master of Science in Management and President of Students for Humanity. "I spent the day at Opera Cardinal Ferrari. There was a big group of Bocconi students there working on various activities, from serving food to playing cards with the elderly, I even mowed the lawn." Giulia, like many of her classmates in the association, also volunteers throughout the year: "It's an amazing experience, it's enriching. We hope to see lots of people participating again this year."

"If anyone thinks they'll have to work in a sad environment," adds Sabina Boffini, an employee in the Department of Marketing and volunteer during the second edition, "they couldn't be more wrong. The work the associations do is not only practical, it also contributes to creating a positive and calm atmosphere. You meet wonderful people and you come out a better person."

Like in past years, the 13 associations participating in this edition work in various fields, including supporting children in underprivileged conditions or in hospitals, assistancing and distributing food to the needy and afterschool, recreational, sports and music activities with children.

Students for Humanity will be available at their information desks on 15-17 February from 11am to 2:30pm in the Piazza Sraffa 13 building, to provide further details on the initiative and sign up participants for the event. Registration can also be completed online for the approximately 120 spots available.
