Alexander Gadjiev's Piano at Bocconi

The concert by the Gorizia native will be held on Thursday 11 February at 9pm in the Via Gobbi Aula Magna, with pieces by Bach, Chopin and Liszt

Despite his young age, Alexander Gadjiev is already recognized at an international level. On Thursday 11 February at 9pm in the Via Gobbi Aula Magna he will play the piano to the notes of Johann S. Bach/Ferruccio Busoni, Chaconne in D minor; Fryderyk Chopin, Piano Sonata n. 2 Op. 35; and Franz Liszt, Sonata in B minor.

The concert has been organized by the Student Affairs Division – ISU Bocconi, in collaboration with Furcht Pianoforti. Admission is free but seats are limited.

Alexander Gadjiev, born in 1994 in Gorizia to a family of musicians, began studying piano at the age of 5 years old with his mother , Ingrid Silic, and continued with his father Siavush Gadjiev, a well-known Russian piano teacher.

He has received the first place award at many youth competitions. At the age of nine, he played Haydn's Concerto in C major for piano and orchestra, receiving excellent press reviews. He held his first recital at the age of ten.

Starting in 2005, his concert career continued to develop, leading him to play at highly prestigious festivals, musical institutions and theaters, both in Italy and abroad. In January 2016, he won first prize and the audience prize at the 9th edition of the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition.
