Michal Szymanowski's Piano Concert at Bocconi

ON THURSDAY 26 NOVEMBER THE YOUNG POLISH MAESTRO WILL PLAY CHOPIN, PADEREWSKI AND SZYMANOWSKI IN THE VIA GOBBI AULA MAGNA

Another date with classical music at Bocconi on Thursday 26 November, at 9pm in the Aula Magna at via Gobbi 5. At the piano the young Polish master Michal Szymanowski will play Fryderyk Chopin, nocturne in C sharp minor, Op. 27 n. 1, three mazurkas op.59 and Sonata in B minor, Op. 58; Ignacy Jan Paderewski, nocturne in B flat major, Op. 16 n. 4; Karol Szymanowski, two mazurkas op. 62.

Michal Szymanowski, born in 1988, represents the current young generation of Polish pianists. He graduated with honors from the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, where he studied piano with Ekaterina Popowa-Zydro and conducting with Zygmunt Rychert. He is preparing his PhD under the guidance of Popowa-Zydro and Ewa Poblocka. He also attended the School of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin in the class of Eldar Nebolsin. In his promising career he has won numerous awards in national and international competitions, such as the Rumaki 2012, 12 International Juliusz Zarebski Music Competition, the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Piano Competition and the Polish National Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition. It tours both in Poland and in the United States, Japan, Brazil, Venezuela, Europe, also in collaboration with major orchestras and the greatest conductors. In 2011 and 2012 he participated in the International Music Festival "Chopin and His Europe" in Warsaw with, among others, Martha Argerich. In 2011 he recorded his debut album "Michal Szymanowski Piano Recital".

The concert is organized by the Student Affairs Division ISU Bocconi in collaboration with Furcht Pianos. Free admission.
