Bocconi in the World and the World at Bocconi

THE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION #FOODSAVINGBEC, THE FIRST EDITION OF BOCCONI SUMMER SCHOOL, CAMPUS ABROAD, DOUBLE DEGREES AND THE WORLD BACHELOR IN BUSINESS. ALL EXAMPLES OF INTERNATIONAL BOCCONI, AS RECOUNTED BY RECTOR ANDREA SIRONI

Courses and exams are over and yet Bocconi and its students are not on vacation. Not the 300 Bocconians busy on the campuses of nine universities around the world (including Tokyo, New York, Shanghai and Los Angeles) nor the same number of international students who came to Bocconi to participate in two new initiatives: the final round of  #FoodSavingBEC, Bocconi Expo 2015 Competition, and the first edition of our Summer School.

From late June through  July, in the corridors of Bocconi, once again one has the impression of being truly at the center of an international crossroads, a hub where cultures and languages mix. Young people from more than 30 countries on every continent – including Afghanistan, Cameroon, the United States, Argentina, China, France and Australia – have come here  to put their heads together and find innovative solutions to one of the emergencies highlighted at this year's Expo: food waste. Others are putting their summer to good use by studying one of the four topics offered by the  Summer School (luxury management,  sports management, startup financing or European economics).

All of them are united by the desire to feel like citizens of an increasingly interconnected world by exploiting the many opportunities our university offers them. Because to give young people an education without borders has always been an objective at Bocconi. This is why we are not content to offer innovative and international teaching, to have agreements with over 250  universities worldwide, to offer 24 double degrees and even a triple degree like the World Bachelor in Business.  This is why semester after semester, year after year we strive to conceive new and challenging experiences to share.
