CEMS Strategic Boards Calls Deans and Rectors from Four Continents to Bocconi

A TWO DAY MEETING IS BEING ATTENDED BY 34 REPRESENTATIVES OF ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS AND CORPORATE PARTNERS OF THE GLOBAL ALLIANCE IN MANAGEMENT EDUCATION

CEMS strategic directions are being set in these days at Università Bocconi. A two-day meeting of the CEMS Strategic Board is ongoing, with a discussion on online learning with Coursera’s President Daphne Koller (Thursday, 28 May morning) and a debate on professional faculty (Friday, 29 May morning) as important additions to the session about strategic directions (Thursday, 28 May afternoon).

CEMS, the Global Alliance in Management Education, is a global alliance of 29 world-class academic institutions, over 60 corporate partners and 4 non-profit organizations collaborating to offer international, graduate students the CEMS MIM (M. Sc. in International management), a one-year joint degree program, exclusively open to the Master's students of the CEMS schools who receive the CEMS degree in conjunction with their home degree.

The CEMS Strategic Board convenes once per year and includes rectors and deans of CEMS academic member schools and senior representatives of CEMS corporate partners, as well as the CEMS Chairman and Executive Director. It defines the vision and mission of CEMS and gives its views and perspectives on categories of activities where CEMS can add value for its members.

Thirty-four members are attending the Bocconi meeting, including deans and rectors of schools from four continents: Europe, Asia, America and Oceania.

“The presence of partner companies’ representatives (this year from ABB, A.T. Kearney, L’Oréal, Skoda and Unicredit,) is key to ensure that MIM’s content is continuously updated and relevant for the business world”, Bocconi Rector and CEMS Chairman Andrea Sironi says, “while a thorough reflection on the future of teaching in higher education is fostered by Coursera’s co-founder and President, Daphne Koller”.
