Gospel, Pop and Jazz Music for a Concert at Universita' Bocconi

THURSDAY 28 MAY AT 9PM, IN THE SAN FERDINANDO CHURCH, THE CONCERT OF THE CHOIR OF UNIVERSITA' BOCCONI WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY THE MEDITLAB ORCHESTRA

Born in 2005, the choir of Università Bocconi is formed by students, alumni, professors and staff of the University and it has taken part in numerous important cultural initiatives, such as the collaboration with the Orchestra Verdi per Tutti.

Conducted by the founder Sergio Lonoce until 2011, the choir is currently under the direction of Martina Zambelli, a graduate of the Conservatorio G. Verdi of Milan, who has radically innovated the musical repertoire. Along with traditional classical and gospel music, it now includes pop, jazz and world music too.

The night of Thursday 28 May, in collaboration with Medit-Lab Orchestra, a youth instrumental ensemble founded by Zambelli herself in 2013, and devoted to the study of ethnic – especially Hispanic and Latino-American – music, will offer a rich programme: from Juan Perez Bocanegra (Hanacpachap cussicuinin) to Astor Piazzolla (Jacinto Chiclana) to traditional Congolese music (O le lè) and South African funeral song, and much more.

The concert is organized by ISU Bocconi – Student Division in collaboration with Furcht Pianoforti.

The entrance is free, subject to availability of seats.
