Community Day: The Bocconi Community Focuses on Volunteering

, by Ilaria Ricotti
Two days to find out first hand how you can help your neighborhood and society in Milan

Università Bocconi, in collaboration with the Csv (Centre for Voluntary Service of Milan) and the students association Students for Humanity, organizes the Community Day, two days in which people will be able to receive information and experience firsthand what it means to do volunteering in Milan.

In the afternoon of Friday, March 13th and in the morning of Saturday 14th, some associations will open their doors to students, faculty and employees of Bocconi. This will allow people to try a real volunteer experience, with the goal of getting people to help others in these two days and maybe subsequently join the associations in their usual activities. An initiative that goes back to the principle of "Community and social engagement." The associations were chosen for their proximity to the university, in order to facilitate the participation of the Bocconi community, and also to "give something back" to the neighborhood that hosts the university. People will be able to choose between various fields of activities: from the aid to people, with associations such as the White Cross and Pane quotidiano, to cultural promotion with the Touring Club.

Once you have chosen the association you prefer, you can register online from today to March 5 (to find out how, click here), subject to availability. For more information, you can contact the Volunteer Desk, always active, or go to the desk sponsored by the students association Students for Humanity, which will be in Sarfatti or Velodromo alternatively on the first week of March (from 11.30 am to 2.30 pm).
