Community Day: On 4 October Bocconi Is Volunteering

ON THE OCCASION OF THE GIORNATA DEL DONO, THE UNIVERSITY WILL INVOLVE STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF IN VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES WITH THREE MILANESE ORGANIZATIONS. THE EVENT IS AN EXPRESSION OF THE UNIVERSITY'S TRADITIONAL COMMITMENT TO SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

At the Opera di San Francesco, helping to serve lunch (or dinner),  at the Opera Cardinal Ferrari to lend a hand entertaining guests, or out with the City Angels on a neighborhood watch through town in the afternoon. These are the three things that Bocconi, in collaboration with the student organization Students for Humanity, will support with a collective experience of volunteering.

Saturday, 4 October is the Giornata del Dono, and that is when the first Bocconi Community Day is scheduled: students, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to donate a few hours of their time volunteering at one of the three organizations.

"Social responsibility is one of the founding values of Bocconi’s identity," wrote Rector Andrea Sironi  and CEO Bruno Pavesi in a message addressed to students, faculty and staff. "This is why over the years we have organized concrete incentives and initiatives around this issue, not only as occasions to learn and reflect, but also as real opportunities for engagement."

Those who wish to participate on Community Day can sign up at the desk that Students for Humanity will organize on 25 September (from 11:30am to 2:30pm in the via Sarfatti 25 building).
