Cerved and Bocconi Together for Academic Research

CERVED OPENS ITS ARCHIVES ON ITALIAN COMPANIES AND ENTREPRENEURS TO STUDENTS AND RESEARCHERS AT BOCCONI, WITH THE FIRST RESEARCH PROJECT ALREADY UNDER WAY. THE INVOLVEMENT OF STUDENTS ALSO ALLOWS TO THE COMPANY TO EVALUATE PROSPECTIVE FUTURE EMPLOYEES

Cerved, leader in Italy in credit information, and Bocconi University have signed a multi-year agreement that provides, on the one hand, applied research by university students and researchers on data drawn from the archives of Cerved and, secondly, a collaboration for the selection of young graduates for employment with the company.

More specifically, Cerved provides databases constructed ad hoc on the basis of the needs of researchers at Bocconi and that respond simultaneously to multiple projects, relying on a wealth of data and only ever used for academic purposes. Researchers at the University Bocconi are able to use unpublished information, with a very fine level of detail that can be crossed with other sources.

"The first pilot projects," says the Vice Rector for research at Bocconi, Tito Boeri, "concern the analysis of the interaction between employment protection systems and liquidity of firms, and the study of entrepreneurial spin-offs, taking as reference the data the enterprises in the Veneto. "

Bocconi collaborates with Cerved to identify potential candidates to add to their staff. In addition, under the agreement, there are collaborations with academics on specific business projects and guidance activities.

"This agreement," said Gianandrea De Bernardis, CEO of Cerved, "was born from the desire to open our important information assets to academic research. Our archives, which we use primarily for the purpose of business, constitute enormous wealth of data to learn more about the companies and entrepreneurs of our  country. We hope that Boccioni, one of the most prestigious Italian universities, will know how to add further value to them. This partnership also gives us the opportunity to identify new talent to be hired by the company, thanks to corporate projects that will see the direct involvement of university students "
