In October 2008, just as the building was being inaugurated, the World Building of the Year was awarded to the Via Roentgen building at the World Architecture Festival in Barcelona. In 2009, Bocconi's latest addition to the campus, designed by Irish architects Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara of Grafton Architects, was one of the 5 finalists for the for the award for contemporary architecture in the European Union, Mies van der Rohe 2009. Now the building's angular silhouettes are featured in Milanese photographer Matteo Cirenei’s latest individual exhibit.
