FOUR DAYS, NINE EVENTS, OVER 80 SPEAKERS WHO WILL DISCUSS OUR CHANGING SOCIETY, AND HOW TO RENDER IT MORE INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE FOR EVERYONE. A chance to discuss our changing society and give a voice to its key players. For four days, Milan will look towards the future through the eyes of those who are working to render it more sustainable and inclusive for everyone. The future will take shape on the Pact4Future stage – the international forum being held on 25-28 March, organized by Bocconi and Corriere della Sera. Over four days, across nine events (two of which are reserved for high school students), we will hear from more than 80 speakers and look with confidence at our changing planet. We will share best practices and meet visionary scientists, entrepreneurs, activists and artists who use creativity to change the world. Four days where economic and business systems, foundations and nonprofit organizations will meet and dialogue to forge a pact, sharing principled projects and actions.

The program is structured around three key words: PEOPLE, PURPOSE, PLANET.

In fact, at Pact4Future, we will discuss the shared future between Europe and Africa, diving into the oceans and flying into space given that Earth’s sustainability is increasingly intertwined with the blue and space economies. First and foremost, the forum will be an opportunity to tell positive stories such as those of refugees who managed to change their destiny, along with those who helped them do so. Stories of visionary entrepreneurs who have chosen to make a social impact and care for the planet.

“Data analysis tells us of a world in which contrasts are sharply increasing: in demographics, income and opportunity,” explains Francesco Billari, Rector of Bocconi University. “These contrasts are driven by climate change, conflicts, populist movements and unequal access to resources. They also, however, tell us about a society that wants to change, and become more sustainable and inclusive. Through Pact4Future, Bocconi wants to share this desire for change by giving voice to its key players, and it does so from the contribution of analysis and studies by its researchers. We need new visions to be inspired by, along with knowledgeable people who can challenge prejudices and overcome obstacles.”

Pact4Future is a call to the private sector – comprising entrepreneurs and nonprofits – to come together and forge a pact responding to the needs of a society that is asking for new forms of welfare, support for families, attention to climate change, and integration and inclusion for the most vulnerable. A pact placing all stakeholders at the center and the impact that central figures in the economic system have on them.
