New Academic Year, New Piano Concerts at Bocconi

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27, GALINA CHISTIAKOVA WILL INAUGURATE THE NEW SEASON, AT 9PM IN THE VIA GOBBI 5 AULA MAGNA.

The hands of Galina Chistiakova at the piano will usher in the new season of concerts organized by the Student Affairs Division ISU Bocconi in collaboration with Furcht Pianos. Thursday, October 27, starting at 9pm in the Aula Magna at Via Gobbi 5, the young Russian concert artist will perform a first part featuring  music by Chopin: Barcarolle in F sharp major, Op 60; Ballade No. 1 in G minor, op 23; Ballade No. 3 in A flat major, Op 47; Andante spianato and Grande Polonaise Brillante op.22.
In the concert’s second part, Chistiakova will play music of Scriabin, and in particular, 12 études op. 8
Admission is free.


The next concert will be held Thursday, November 17 with Masaru Yoshitake and music by Mozart, Schumann, Debussy and Messiaen.

Galina Chistiakova was born in Moscow in 1987 into a family of musicians. She began studying piano at age three with her mother Liubo Chistiakova and Helena Khoven. From 1993 to 2005, she studied at the Central Music School of the Moscow Conservatory, and got her diploma from the P. Tchaikovsky Conservatory under the guidance of H. Khoven and A. Ryabov. In 2014 she finished her studies at the Conservatory and the postgraduate course with M. Voskresensky. Now she is a student at the International Academy of Piano "Incontri col Maestro" in Imola in Boris Petrushansky’s class. She has been awarded prizes in more than 30 international competitions including the International Chopin Competition for young pianists in Moscow, IPC in memory of Emil Gilels, Scriabin IPC in Moscow, Maria Callas Grand Prix in Athens Concert CPI in China, Ferruccio Busoni in Italy. Since 2000, she has performed concerts as a soloist and with orchestras in many countries of Europe and Japan.
