Talamoni and Cambiaghi Donors to Bocconi

TWO GRATEFUL BOCCONI ALUMNE WHO GRADUATED IN THE 1960S EXPLAIN WHAT MOTIVATED THEM TO BECOME DONORS TO THE UNIVERSITY

They were classmates in junior high, then studied languages at Bocconi in the 1960s, and now they are jointly supporting the Senior Alumni Scholarship Fund that covers partial tuition remission for deserving undergraduate students. Their names are Bona Cambiaghi and Rosa Talamoni (they graduated in 1963 and 1964, respectively), they are from Monza and have been close friends for a lifetime.

Remembering Bocconi during those years, they speak of “a small and family-like environment where you studied hard to learn the veritable foreign language for postwar Italians: French,” says  Bona Cambiaghi. Bocconi made the two girls curious about the world and gave them the opportunity to go abroad for their education. Rosa Talamona adds: “Already in the early 60s, the University was organizing summer internships at Sorbonne.”

It was natural for the two women to commit themselves to supporting the new generation of Bocconi students. “Even small amounts of financial aid, if doled out regularly, can go a long way in helping students go through college,” Rosa explains. “I'd say that supporting them economically is not only the right thing to do, but also a kind of duty,” she adds. And Bona concludes: “We want our donations to continue in time, because we want to give Bocconi back what it gave us in terms of opportunities, by helping us become competent professionals.”
