Preparatory Courses and Aperitivi: A Warm Welcome to Bocconi to Everyone

UNIVERSITY STAFF AND STUDENT ASSOCIATIONS HAVE PLANNED ACTIVITIES AIMED TO EASE THE TRANSITION TO THE NEW ENVIRONMENT FOR MORE THAN 5,000 NEW STUDENTS

#WelcomeToBocconi. Starting today, international students arriving at the University will find a Welcome Lounge reserved for them at the ground floor of the Via Roentgen building. Tutor students and staff members will be available to answer questions about Bocconi and Milan and new students can pick up a welcome kit containing all the information needed to start their adventure. They can also sign up for a guided tour of the University and meet Bocconi students and associations. At the Welcome Lounge, they will receive the program for Welcome Days, the activities planned to ease the transition to the new environment for students who are completing the final steps of their enrollment and starting their studies.
 
Between the end of August and the beginning of September, more than 5,000 new students will set foot in Bocconi for the first time. The figure takes into account new undergraduate and graduate students and exchange, Double Degree and World Bachelor in Business students.
 
Welcome Days will kick-off next Monday, 29 August, but today dozens of first-year MSc students will start preparatory courses especially addressed to those students who, during undergraduate studies, attended courses that were not directly connected to the graduate program.
 
Welcome Days activities include program presentations, permit-of-stay sessions for non-EU students, and crash courses in subjects pertaining to particular subjects. Initiatives are tailored to specific needs and schedules are differentiated for Bachelor of Science programs in English, Master of Science programs, programs in Italian, and the World Bachelor in Business. New international BSc students who joined the Bocconi Buddy Program will get assistance from current Bocconi student mentors who can provide them with useful tips on academic and social life on campus and in the city.
 
As people are a prominent part of the Bocconi experience, student associations will play a major role in Welcome Days with a program of activities ranging from aperitivi to presentations and spanning from 30 August to 20 September.
