The First Fulbright Scholarship For SDA Bocconi Awarded

JAY ARZU IS THE RECIPIENT OF THE FIRST SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED BY THE US ITALIAN FULBRIGHT COMMISSION TO STUDY THE MASTER OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AT SDA BOCCONI

In October, Jay Arzu will begin studying the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at SDA Bocconi thanks in part to the support of the first Fulbright scholarship awarded by the US-Italian Fulbright Commission aimed at candidates from the US with a special interest in public management studies.

The Fulbright Program, sponsored by the US Government, offers grants for US citizens to study abroad and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. The US-Italy Fulbright Commission and SDA Bocconi signed an agreement to accept recipients of Fulbright Scholarship from the US for the Master of Public Administration program with the scholarship covering full tuition and fees and living expenses.

The MPA is a new one-year, full-time international program, taught in English, which will kick off in October. The aim of the MPA is to prepare professional managers in government and industry with innovative and creative policy approaches to resolving complex issues. It offers four specializations to prepare experts in the public sector: City Management and Competitiveness, Business and Government Relations, International Public and Non-profit Management, Arts and Cultural Policy.

“I feel tremendously privileged to win the prestigious Fulbright scholarship awarded for the first time this year. I plan on contributing to city management and urban planning and I applied for the MPA program at SDA because of its bold and innovative approach in preparing public sector managers and experts in city management and competitiveness,” says Jay. “This opportunity will help me grow as a professional manager with innovative ideas to address management problems of emerging cities and help to design and manage globally competitive cities worldwide. My dream is to plan and manage a master plan for a capital city.”
