A Concert for Four Graduation Awards

AT THE USUAL CLASSICAL MUSIC CONCERT ON THURSDAY 28 MAY AT 9PM IN THE VIA GOBBI AULA MAGNA, 2015 GRADUATION AWARDS WILL BE PRESENTED BY THE FONDAZIONE ACHILLE E GIULIA BOROLI

The Dean of the Bocconi University Graduate School, Antonella Carù, and the Vice President of the Fondazione Achille e Giulia Boroli, Marcella Boroli Balestrini, will present four 2015 graduation awards to young University graduates, granted by the Foundation, on Thursday 28 May at 9pm in the Via Gobbi Aula Magna.
Afterwards, a clarinet and piano concert will be performed by musicians Anton Dreesler and Carlo Guaitoli. The concert has been organized by the Student Affairs Division-ISU Bocconi, in collaboration with Furcht Pianoforti and Fondazione Achille e Giulia Boroli.

The concert program will include:
Carlo Maria von Weber: Variations on a theme from his opera “Silvana” Op.33; Gioacchino Rossini: Fantasia; Konstantin Mostras: Study on a theme by Rimsky-Korsakov from the opera “The Little Golden Cockerel”; Gaetano Donizetti: First study for clarinet solo; Luigi Bassi: “Rigoletto”, Fantasia di Concerto.

Anton Dressler, a musician with incredible sensibility and superb intonation, has performed in Italy, Europe, Israel, the US and Taiwan. He has played with musicians such as Misha Maisky, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Julian Rachlin, Boris Petrushansky, Itamar Golan, Bruno Canino, Pavel Vernikov, Moni Ovadia and Ingrid Fliter, and ensembles such as the Szymanowski Quartet, Giovane Quartetto Italiano, the St. Petersburg Quartet, the Moscow Chamber Orchestra, and has participated in many festivals. He is one of the founding members of the chamber group Kaleido Ensemble and participates in klezmer and crossover music projects. He also uses “live electronics” elements at his concerts. As first clarinet, he has collaborated with orchestras such as I Pomeriggi Musicali, Orchestra da Camera di Padova e del Veneto, Orchestra da Camera di Mantova, and Orchestra Sinfonica di Savona.

Carlo Guaitoli studied at the Conservatory of Verona and the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome under Loretta Turci and Sergio Perticaroli. He placed first in several international competitions, including Casagrande in Terni, Busoni in Bolzano, Rubinstein in Tel Aviv, the International Music Competition of Japan in Tokyo and the Unisa Competition in Pretoria. He has performed at leading Italian and European centers with prestigious orchestras, the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, the Stuttgart Philharmonic, Filarmonica A. Toscanini, Orchestra dell’Arena di Verona, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto and Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese. As a chamber music performer, he has collaborated with the La Scala Strings Quartet, Nuovo Quartetto Italiano and Quintetto Bibiena. He has worked closely with Franco Battiato; he has recorded many records with him, both as a pianist and as a conductor of prestigious orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the English Chamber Orchestra.
