Tell Us Your Internship. We'll Tell You Your Scholarship

ONE SCHOLARSHIP FOR EACH INTERNSHIP ABROAD, ASSIGNED REGARDLESS OF THE STUDENT'S ELIGIBILITY AND ZERO PAPERWORK. THIS IS THE BOCCONI MOBILITY GRANTSSYSTEM. BECAUSE AN INTERNSHIP IS A VALUABLE EXPERIENCE AND NO STUDENT SHOULD HAVE TO GIVE IT UP

An internship abroad is an opportunity of growth, at a professional and personal level, as well as an increasing phenomenon in recent years. About 30% of the internships carried out by Bocconi students are in fact abroad, reason why the University has implemented a reorganization of the international mobility scholarship system, in order to support students who wish to pursue an internship without any financial concern.

The Bocconi scholarship system covers almost all kinds of internships in every country, in those cases where the employer does not provide any compensation, because an internship is a valuable experience and must always be supported. There are Erasmus scholarships, Embassy Program and international Organization grants and specific grants to cover all types of curricular internship (Fondo Sostegno Giovani). What’s peculiar in this grants-system is the fact that the assignment of a scholarship is determined by the requirements of the internship itself and not by those of the requesting student: it is the internship to be eligible to receive a grant, not the student. Scholarships are assigned regardless of the economic conditions, but in case students ever need additional financial support, grants for international mobility  can be added to these scholarships. All this, with a minimum need for bureaucracy and paperwork: the Bocconi Stage Office will find the suitable scholarship, propose it to the student and then help him in completing the forms. The result is an easy and affordable internship scholarship program.

The experience of Vittoria Paglino, a recent CLEACC graduate (Economics and Management for arts, culture and communication), is a clear example of how the possibility to receive a scholarship can be crucial. "I worked at the Elgiz Museum of Istanbul for three months, an experience akin to my studies and important for my career. Thanks to the Erasmus fund I got a scholarship with which I paid my rent", says Victoria. "Right now I’m in Paris for an internship at The European Independent Film Festival: I’m planning the festival, developing marketing and promotion strategies, and I am also learning the techniques of video-editing. I got the Erasmus scholarship for this internship, too" she continues. "The possibility to get a scholarship was absolutely crucial: if I hadn’t had this opportunity I would have never lived these experiences since these internships are unpaid. It was the Bocconi internship office that proposed to me to apply, and the whole procedure was unexpectedly simple: I just had to sign some papers".

To learn all the study and work abroad opportunities offered by the University, attend the Bocconi International Fair (BIF), which will take place on February 11 in Via Roentgen 1. BIF is an annual event, during which, among other things, students and graduates can get more information about international programs and submit their CVs to Bocconi representatives.
