Financial Times Places Bocconi in Seventh Heaven

AFTER STRONG SHOWINGS BY BOCCONI AND SDA BOCCONI IN THE FT RANKINGS OF 2015, THE UNIVERSITY RISES A PLACE IN THE EUROPEAN BUSINESS SCHOOL RANKING

Bocconi has moved up one position and is seventh in Europe in the Financial Times ranking of rankings that closes 2015.  For both the University and its business school, SDA Bocconi, this year was marked by continued improvements in the individual categories.

This position in the 2015 European Business School Ranking was in fact achieved thanks to the results obtained by the programs of Bocconi University and SDA Bocconi in the rankings the British newspaper produces every year. The Master of Science in International Management rose to 9th place in the world while the MBA is in 10th place in Europe. The Executive MBA was ranked 32nd in Europe and in the overall executive education ranking, SDA Bocconi reached 10th place on the old continent. Lastly, and not included in the calculation of this ranking of rankings, is the Master in Finance which finished 9th in the world.

"The results achieved in 2015," says Stefano Caselli, Dean for International Affairs at Bocconi, "bring us closer a goal of our strategic plan, Bocconi2020: improve in the major international rankings until we are in the top 5 in Europe and top 20 in the world rankings regarding the business schools and universities in the social sciences.”

This rise in the various rankings is the result of efforts that the university is making to further internationalize its educational programs, improve the overall student experience and strengthen placement services.

"The MBA programs and the ability to offer companies custom training that responds promptly to their needs are keys to a School of Management," says Bruno Busacca, Dean of SDA Bocconi. "Our school is making progress internationally in both lines of its offer, that is, in the selection and placement of students, and in relations with companies and institutions that choose us as preferred partners for the development of their human capital. These advances are naturally reflected in the various rankings."

The FT ranking concludes a successful year for Bocconi and SDA Bocconi, the only Italian school present in all the major international rankings. Among the many positions reached, Forbes placed the MBA of SDA Bocconi in 4th place among the best programs taught outside the US, and Bloomberg Businessweek placed it 12th. In the QS World University Ranking, Bocconi University was ranked 22nd in the world and 5th in Europe among universities specialized in Social Sciences and Management, and 32nd in the world for reputation among employers. In the QS ranking divided by subject Bocconi came in seventh in the world and third in Europe in the area of business and management, 17th in the world and fifth in Europe for economics and econometrics, and 28th in the world and seventh in Europe for finance and accounting.
