Bocconi Startup Day Award: Here Are the Best Startups in 2015

WISE, COMUNICHIAMO AND EVERYRIDE ARE THE THREE COMPANIES THAT WON IN THEIR RESPECTIVE CATEGORIES OF THE BOCCONI STARTUP DAY AWARD. THE AWARD WAS PRESENTED TODAY AT THE FIRST BOCCONI STARTUP DAY, AN INITIATIVE OF BOCCONI UNIVERSITY IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CITI FOUNDATION


A biomedical company (WISE), a platform for communication between citizens and local governments (Comuni-chiamo), and an aggregator of services for car, bike and scooter sharing (eVeryride). These are the three startups that have won the Bocconi Startup Day Award. This recognition, awarded by an international jury, rewards startups incorporated in Italy which have already achieved strong results in the early stages of their business. The award ceremony took place this morning in the first Startup Day organized by Bocconi in partnership with Citi Foundation and with the collaboration of Speed Mi ​​Up, the support of SDA Bocconi School of Management, Bocconi Alumni Association and Economics & Management magazine and the media partnership with Corriere Innovation.

The 11 startups that have come to the final stage of the Bocconi Startup Day Award (from the more than 80 that took part)  faced off in three categories: best startup in 2015, best startups in social innovation (Social Innovation Startup) ; the best startup Millennials (team under 30 years of age).

Best startups in 2015
WISE, biomedical startup founded in 2011, which wants to produce and market a new generation of electrodes for neuro-modulation and neuro-monitoring to treat chronic pain and epilepsy monitoring in pre-surgery. The technology, a patented design, allows you to create electrodes that integrate electronic circuits on biocompatible elastic silicon rubber: this makes them less expensive, less invasive and more reliable. The members of WISE are Ravagnan Luca, Mario Zanone Poma, Sandro Ferrari, Giulia Salzano, Laura Iris Ferro, Jens Ellrich, Turkish David, Mauro Brunelli, Cristian Ghisleri, Paolo Milani.

WISE win the opportunity for one partner or member of the management team to participate in a SDA Bocconi  Masterchosen from the following: Executive MBA, Executive MBA Evening, Executive Master in Marketing and Sales or Master in Entrepreneurship and Business Strategy; an award  of 15,000 euros; the preparation of a case study by SDA Bocconi. The case studies will be published by the European Case Clearing House and by Economics & Management in the issue dedicated to Bocconi Startup Day.

Social Innovation Startup 2015
Comuni-chiamo, a platform and app for communication between citizens and the Italian municipalities that allows citizens to report problems and hardships they face daily in their interaction with local administration. Thanks to the service of geo-localization and the ability to upload images, municipalities have immediate awareness of where and how to intervene, without the need to install any software. Since its founding in 2012, the service has been adopted by 60 municipalities. Members of Comuni-chiamo are Gilberto Cavallino, Matthew Buferli, Jacopo Solmi, Jason Lawrence Boon.

Comuni-chiamo wins the opportunity for one partner or member of the management team to participate in a  SDA Bocconi Master in Management of Social Enterprises, Non Profit and Cooperative and award of 10,000 euros.

Millennial Startup 2015
eVeryride, the aggregator of all car sharing, bike sharing and scooter sharing services. Through the app, created in 2014, users quickly compare all of the alternatives available. The application, available from June 2015, meets the need to access the services of car, bike or scooter sharing simultaneously from a single app, which collects information from 11 different service providers. It is currently available in 4 cities (Florence, Milan, Rome, Turin). eVeryride consists of Lorenzo Polentes, Gianni Robert Rehkopf, Matthew Visin, Nicholas Marco Semenzato.

eVeryride win the opportunity for one partner or member of the management team to participate in a SDA Bocconi Master in Entrepreneurship and Business Strategy and an award of 10,000 euro.
