Sabrina Weissbach and Rimini's Activism

NEVER WORK ALONE IS THE MOTTO PUSHING BOCCONI ALUMNI IN THE RIMINI AREA TO ORGANIZE MANY EVENTS IN THE BUSY CITY ON THE ADRIATIC SEA

In the latest round of BAA’s Leaders Conference, Sabrina Weissbach and the Rimini Area she leads were awarded with the prize for most events organized during the year. The Rimini chapter of the Bocconi Alumni Association has been extremely active since its start in 2011. Sabrina, who works in marketing & communications for a metalworking company, started leading the Rimini Area in 2014, after Demis Diotallevi, its founder, entered the BAA board in Milan. The group is among the few ones having its own locales, “a small plus of which we are proud; it’s a kind of Bocconi classroom within a congress center,” she says.

The focus of the group’s first years of activity have been the banking industry, finance, and the inevitable debates on the causes of and solutions to the global crisis, always organized in collaboration with associations such as Lions or Rotary Clubs, often jointly with professional figures, such as consultants, auditors, accountants. “Our motto is: never work alone. By this we mean we intend to pursue positive networking: connecting people in the professions is something which is no longer regarded as improper.” Under Sabrina’s guidance, the activities concerning the job market have increased: “We have put a lot of effort in the seminars organized jointly with Career Advice,” the Area Leader explains. “The valorization of one’s professional profile in the job market is acutely felt in Rimini also.

But in comparison to large cities like Milan or Rome, the opportunities for professional encounter and exchange are fewer.” The upcoming events in June? “We will host an event on marketing, and on June 21, as it has become our tradition, we will organize a dinner discussion on a current topic together with the main Club Services of the city.”
