Elisa Ricciuti, an Ambassador of Cergas at EXPO 2015

THE RESEARCHER HAS BEEN NOMINATED AMBASSADOR OF CASCINA TRIULZA FOUNDATION

Elisa Ricciuti is one of the ten PhD students to have been nominated Ambassadors of Cascina Triulza Foundation, the Civil Society Pavillion at EXPO 2015. As expert, independent observers, the Ambassadors will be in charge of attending the events connected to the third sector that will be held at  Cascina Triulza throughout EXPO 2015. The leading event will be the European Foundation Center Annual General Assembly, which will take place from 20 to 22 May and will host more than 600 delegates from European and North-American foundations. “The General Assembly will be an invaluable occasion to meet the representatives of the main foundations in the world and to share views on the recent trends of philanthropy, which is also one of the ways in which this sector evolves”, says Ricciuti.

At the end of EXPO, the Ambassadors’ observations and reflections will be gathered in a publication that will serve as a tool to identify potential development strategies for philanthropy.

The attention towards philanthropy has led Ricciuti to travel the world ever since her BA course at Bocconi, during which she took part in internships in Bangkok, Rome and Brussels. After the MA (CLAPI) and two years at SDA Bocconi School of Management, in 2009 Ricciuti started to collaborate with the Non Profit area of Cergas (Centre for Research on Health and Social Care Management), where she is specifically involved with the role of foundations in the promotion of social inclusion and in the evaluation of their impact – an analysis that recently earned her the IRPAs award. Despite being now based in Milan, Ricciuti is a PhD student of the Department of Global Health and Development of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
