UMultirank, Bocconi at the Top for Internationalization, Research and Teaching

IN THE SECOND EDITION OF THE RANKING PROMOTED BY THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION, BOCCONI HAD AN EXCELLENT ASSESSMENT IN THREE KEY AREAS

A university with a strong international inclination and with outstanding results in research and teaching. This is the image of Bocconi that has emerged from the 2nd edition of the U-Multirank ranking, funded by the European Commission and published today. In particular, Bocconi was given the highest assessment in all the parameters used to measure schools’ internationalization.
 
U-Multirank, which was created last year, does not produce classifications, but rather it provides a multidimensional and comparative assessment of universities through lists of a wide range of indicators. These indicators are related to various areas, such as teaching, research, internationalization and services, and use data provided by the university and students. The analysis covers approximately 1,200 institutions in 83 different countries. It is funded by the European Commission and is conducted by an independent consortium led by the Centre for Higher Education in Germany and the Center for Higher Education Policy Studies and the Centre for Science & Technology Studies, both in the Netherlands.
 
"U-Multiranking offers a different philosophy on rankings, with the objective of evaluating universities not through a general classification but based on parameters and areas assessed separately by allocating grades,” explains Stefano Caselli, Vice Rector for Internationalization at Bocconi. “And seeing that Bocconi has been assessed well in the areas that represent essential aspects of our strategy – internationalization, research and educational offer – is a reason for great satisfaction.”
 
Individual criteria analyzed in the ranking include: high student mobility, supported by the offer of over 250 exchange destinations at partner schools and 25 Double Degree programs; the number of citations of research papers by the faculty and the percentage of works cited over the total number of publications; and the very high percentage of graduates at an undergraduate and postgraduate level.
