Welcome Days, Kickoff on 1 September

THREE WEEKS OF WELCOMING ACTIVITIES FOR ALL NEW STUDENTS, WITH INTRODUCTORY MEETINGS ON UNIVERSITY LIFE, VISITS, PHOTOGRAPHY, SPORT AND MUSIC. THE MANY BOCCONI STUDENT ASSOCIATIONS WILL BE ON HAND TO EXPLAIN THE OPPORTUNITIES THEY OFFER OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

In 2014, for all students enrolled in the first year of Bocconi’s Bachelor and Master of Science programs, the academic year kicks off on 1 September with the Welcome Days. The initiative aims to welcome new students into the University and introduce them to their chosen study path. Apart from institutional events on orientation to university life, the student associations have organized a program of information meetings and social gatherings aimed at allowing students to socialize and get to know the city. And then photography, sport and music and a final grand concert with the bands of Bocconi students.

From 27 August the international students who arrive in Milan will find a welcome lounge to help them face their first contact with the University and the city.

Each student will be able to draw up their own path starting from the programs designed for the Bachelor Programs in Italian, the Integrated Master of Arts in Law, the Master of Science Programs in Italian, the Bachelor Programs in English and the Master of Science Programs in English.

For everyone, there is an introductory meeting to their program with the Director to familiarize them with the teaching plan; plus, orientation meetings will cover, right from the start, all practical aspects of university life and, for the English programs, include a team- building activity to promote integration among the students of all nationalities. Guided visits to the campus and the city will help students move around with ease.

Students, through social networks and using hashtag #WelcomeToBocconi, will be able to share their photos of the welcome initiative and stay up to date on the program of events. To the new students are also dedicated four specific groups on Facebook: four places to to sign up and stay in contact, ask for information and receive help from the university orientation team.
