Bocconi's Master of Science in Finance Moves Up in FT Ranking

THE MASTER OF SCIENCE IN FINANCE RISES SEVEN SPOTS TO PLACE 20TH IN THE FINANCIAL TIMES RANKING. A KEY FACTOR IN THIS FINE EVALUATION IS THE PROGRAM'S HIGHLY EFFECTIVE CAREER SERVICE, WHICH HELPS OVER THREE-QUARTERS OF STUDENTS FIND A JOB BEFORE GRADUATION

Positive recognition for graduates in the international job market has improved the Bocconi Master of Science in Finance’s position in the Global Masters in Finance 2013 ranking, published today by the Financial Times. The graduate-level degree in Finance, taught in English, moved up seven spots and, after making its debut last year, placed 20th.

Of the criteria analyzed by the FT, the Bocconi program stands out due to alumni positively evaluating the university’s effective career services, placing 7th among the top 40 master programs ranked by the UK newspaper. In fact, 78% of students in the Bocconi program are already employed on the day of graduation, 98% are employed after three months and 58% of graduates work abroad. The program is also among the top five graduate programs in the world recognized as a CFA Program Partner of the CFA Institute, the most important professional association in the area of finance.

“Moving up seven spots”, says Stefano Caselli, Vice Rector for International Affairs at the university in Milan's via Sarfatti , “allows us to emphasize the Master of Science in Finance’s strengths, and is a testimony of its high quality in terms of the students’ and the faculty’s international profile. Most importantly, this increase highlights the program’s strength in placement, as also demonstrated by recent successes in various rankings in the areas of Economics, Finance and Accounting".

This result is therefore another example of  international recognition garnered by Bocconi. Last month the university placed 17th in the ranking of best universities for economics (5th in Europe) and 21st for finance and accounting (4th in Europe) in the World University Ranking 2013 by QS.
